No score limit and no game over. A fault just restarts the rally.
Two on each side of the net — the format most pickleball is actually played in. Your CPU partner covers the other half of your side and takes the ball when it is closer. Normal scoring from Options.
Move with the joystick. Push it gently to walk and all the way out to run. Hold a direction as you swing to aim: left or right for the sideline, up for a shot that dies short, down for one that goes deep. Drive is a fast flat shot. Dink is a soft touch shot that arcs just over the net. Dive (or both buttons) lunges for a ball out of reach.
Turn on Advanced shot buttons in Options for the full kit: Reset is a soft neutral shot back to the middle when you're in trouble, Lob arcs deep over an opponent camped at the net, Angle is a sharp cross-court dink, and Drop is the third-shot drop — a soft shot from your own baseline that lands just past the net, hit deep. On the court, R L A P mark where each shot will land.
Best of 3 or 5 games is in Options. Doubles puts a CPU partner beside you on your side of the net. After a rally, press R (or use Replay in the pause menu) to watch it again. Finish games to unlock four more players and the golden ball.
Serve underhand, diagonally, from behind the baseline. It must clear the net and land past the kitchen line, in the correct diagonal box, in bounds. There's no second try — a serve fault hands the point straight over.
The serve must bounce before it's returned, and that return must also bounce before anyone volleys it. After that, players can volley freely — except from the kitchen.
The painted zone on each side of the net is the non-volley zone, better known as the kitchen. Volley the ball (hit it out of the air, before it bounces) while standing in the kitchen and it's an automatic fault, every time, no matter how far into the rally you are.
The rally ends if the ball bounces twice on one side, sails wide or long, or goes into the net. Whoever caused it loses the point (or the serve, in side-out scoring).
The Quick set buttons in Options: 11 is standard rally scoring (a point every rally, win by 2), Side-out is the traditional rule where only the serving side can score, and Pro is best of 5 games to 11.
Wood is the slowest and most forgiving. Composite is balanced. Graphite is fast and lively. Each plays a little differently — try them all.
